Christmas Decor 2011

Here are a few pictures of our Christmas decor. I was really happy how it turned out. The house had a really lovely glow to it.

This was some amazing hand felted mistletoe that Mr. Ramon picked up for me at a super cute shop in the Melrose Building called Butter Home. It is really hard to say no to any of their lovlies.

We always have stocking for the dogs and I found these felt stockings at Target and could not resist. I want to make matching stockings for the family like my mom always did but have not found the time to do it over the past two holiday seasons. We have 4 stockings this year as we have a little foster dog named Lily. Notice Mischa hanging out behind the stockings. She knows exactly what they are and is sure she can get into them.

I was able to have a wreath for the very first time since I have been in Seattle. We picked it up at our favorite tree lot. Just a basic fresh evergreen circle. I added some small touches - bow, glitter and felt heart. It looked great on our red door.

Do a lot of you make wreaths? Or do you buy them pre made? I really liked the process and would like to learn more about making them.

And lastly our tree. Mr. Ramon and I always pick a table top type tree. Even now that we have the room for a full size they are so darn cute and fit perfectly in the Mini. I love my felted angel. I have had her for years - she originally came from Bath and Body Works when they had a holiday ornament collection.

Here is little Toby sleeping under the tree. It was his favorite place.

Wishing you and yours a very merry Christmas!

Christmas Inspiration

Christmas is one of my favorite holidays. I love the entire Christams season. I don't get crazy with my decorating but I do love to come up with a new theme for our tree and other decorations every year. This could get expensive but we try and re-use and make as much ourselves as possible. Mr. Ramon gets to choose every other year and this year was my year.

I felt really inspired by red and white. Classic and so clean. I wanted it to look homespun but with a modern edge. What set it all in motion was these adorable felt hearts from IKEA. They looked rather handcrafted but still modern.

I decided to build around this a Scandinavian theme. Red and white, felted accents, white lights, reindeer and graphic patterns for paper and tree skirt. These are some of the images from my mood board.

Check back for a post of what our Christmas actually looked like!
